Called ‘Taabir’, the event which concluded its finale at PU, called up youth to fight
against drugs, while also
providing an opportunity for bands and individuals to showcase their talents. Leading Punjabi singer and actor
Prabh Gill (of Mere Kol, Tareyan De des fame), along with music director Nakulogic and Sukhmani Kaur Boparai with Sidharth Grover were part of the jury. Prabh also gave a performance on is famous numbers.
Bearing the cold of the evening, students found a spot for themselves in the open area near the Stu-C, the venue for the performance. The unique, live performances event highlighted the creativity of the live performances by young, talented bands from the city. Overall, bands were quite consistent in their performances.
Before beginning his performance, Prabh was overwhelmed with emotion. He said, “I am very impressed with the concept of Taabir, that of waging a musical fight against drugs. This is a wonderful drug prevention campaign to educate young India to follow their passion, and challenges them to remain drug free. I feel proud and excited watching this phase of our youth.”
Added Sukhmani, “This is first time we have initiated a concept like Taabir. Reason behind this huge musical celebration is to make aware the youth about
‘No Drugs Campaign’
and provide a chance for them to perform in front of a crowd, something that only professionals get to do.”
Six finalists were selected from the audition and invited to perform to a live audience in Panjab University on Sunday, including amateur bands like Cloud 9, Nawazish live, Brothers on Board, Soaring Eagles, The Heaven High and Satyug.

The event was concluded with the live performance of Prabh Gill enthralling the masses with his electric and vivacious performance. Prabh Gill among all judges end up making an enlightening impact on the audience by emanating positive message of the event.
