It seems singer Kambi, who was deported from Canada earlier this year, is doing an act to pull attention of Canadian PM Justin Trudeau who is currently on India visit. Kambi’s latest song titled Yaar Trudeau, is trending for more reasons than one. Kambi had to return to India in January having lived in Canada for seven years after the Canadian government did not renew his visa. Apparently, after being deported Kambi had put out a heart-wrenching video on social media about how he was so disappointed at leaving Canada, the country where he had reached after a huge struggle battling financial constraints seven years ago. The singer had also received support from several singers in the Punjabi industry.

Ticket prices touch a new record for a Punjabi concert

This is the first of its kind. And perhaps, also a harbinger of times to come? Tickets for Sufi Punjabi singer, who also made his acting debut last year with The Black Prince, Satinder Sartaaj’s concert sold at a record price of Rs 2500-Rs 3000, that too in cities like Amritsar and Jalandhar! On February 14 and 18 Sartaaj gave concerts at Jalandhar and Amritsar, respectively. The tickets, which were also on an events and movies booking online portal, went for as high as Rs 2500 for Jalandhar and between Rs 400 to Rs 3000 for Amritsar. The concerts saw audiences packing the venues, seated in complete reverence of his poetry and Sufi music. Now, that is surely a first for a Punjabi singer.

for a film, Prahona. The shooting for the film has started earlier this week. The actors have paired up again after Wamiqa made a presence as a model in Kullwinder’s song Angrezi Wali Madam last year. The song turned out to be a quite a hit, which is what must have prompted filmmakers to capitalize on their chemistry. Directed by Amrit Raj Chadha and Mohit Banwait, Prahona is the second film after Hun Ni Murhde Yaar opposite Sharry Mann, which Wamiqa has signed back-to-back in Punjabi industry.
