Translation training program begins at PU’s Hindi department

Several translators from 28 central government departments are participating in the five-day long programme, currently on at PU’s department of Hindi. The event started on Monday is organised jointly by

bureau along with Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti. Besides government officers, faculty and students from PU are also also participating in the event. During the inauguration, Binay Kumar Jha, principal chief income tax commissioner, said that if we can internalise Hindi as a language of hearts, perhaps there will be no need to implement it as an official language by law. DU of PU Prof Shankar Jha, said that translation has played a major role in the evolution of human culture, and without translation we would be deprived of invaluable knowledge from various cultures and languages. Secretary of Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samiti, Sangeeta Vashisht informed about various programs being organized to promote Hindi.
