As part of the Ruby Jubilee of one of city's oldest and prestigious educational institutions, St. Stephens School, Chandigarh an award ceremony honouring the ‘Outstanding 40’ was organised by The Old Stephenian Society (TOSS), the alumni association of the school. An evening Mass followed the awards ceremony which was also attended by Lance Fuller, former Deputy Secretary of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) as the chief guest.
St. Stephens School, Chandigarh is not just a school but a spirit for all its alumni members. The motto Semper Sursum is etched in the hearts of all alumni new or old. As an institution the school has been carved by the illustrious founder, Harold Carver, who till date remembers each and every student by their name.
Students vie, what would Stephenians do without their Carver sir who sprung to life the illustrious TOSS, The Old Stephenian Society, an elegant alumnus association given birth to Celebrate the remarkable life and history of the school and its glorious Alumnus!
While all Stephenians are achievers amongst themselves, 40 were chosen to bear the torch and set an example for their peers and juniors. Amongst the awardees were Olympian (shooter)
Abhinav Bindra, Gurpreet Sandhu, Late Sergeant Uday Singh, SSP Gaurav Toora, model and actor, Anchal Kumar Mittal, lyricist and actor, Gurpreet Saini, and author Shabri Prasad to name a few.
The event was followed by a dinner set in Stephens famous Japanese gardens. Fairy lights sumptuous food and nostalgic moments for the alumni made it an evening to remember.
