The Altius Hotel hosted a Kids Christmas Carnival in Chandigarh

Moms with kids in tow soaked in the Christmas fervour at Kids Christmas Carnival on Tuesday morning. Neatly pruned grass of The Altius Lawns (on the front) played host to several families who dropped in to have a gala time at the event. No sooner it kicked off at 11 am than people started pouring in. If some flocked to the gaming area, others queued up at the eating point.
Smile please: “The main reason behind all this was to create a different model. We had planned it long back,” said Ginny Chawla, MD of the place. While moms and kids outnumbered everyone, there were dads too having their share of fun. Adding to the excitement was special photo corner for the occasion, which had a decked up Christmas sleigh. There was also real Santa Claus along with giant reindeer figure making for amazing pictures.
Food swings: “Thomas Train, Bouncy, Merry go round… we wanted to give variety to the kids in terms of swings, rides etc,” said Ginny. A dedicated play area for the kids below three was also created. At the food section were gol gappas, chaat, idli, burgers, smiley’s, potato wedges, mocktails etc. The stall, Santa Sweet Shop saw massive rush with its tempting muffins, cakes etc. “We also created chocolate tree for the kids,” he said. There were several competitions for kids and lots of prizes given in cute kid, painting category. For mothers too there were competitions like nail art etc. “It’s the biggest ever carnival hosted,” said Ginny, adding, “Our lawns can handle big events where as many 1000 people can enjoy in relaxed, pollution free environs."
