Students learn about police control room

The

police week

celebrations this year included a variety of events, some of which made the participants learn about many aspects of policing. Teachers took 94

students

on a guided tour of Police Control Room (

PCR

) in

Sector 9

to learn about the working of this wing. The students were told about the relevance of emergency number in helping citizens connect immediately with police. They were sensitized that it’s not mandatory to disclose their identity while giving information about a crime happening around them. The cops also talked about the working of GPS-based dial-100 system, along with women’s helpline (1091) and senior citizen’s helpline (1090).
