, Chandigarh recently, special children walked the ramp with models during the shopping fest-
Meraki
. The show was organized by
Empower-Joy
which works for special children welfare and social life betterment.
Founders of the organisation, Bharati Kapoor and Sharmita Bhinder said that getting these
special kids
on stage with celebrities and models, is an effort at instilling confidence in them. “It is a platform that gives opportunity and also, no one can even make out the difference between the normal and special kids. These kids just need a chance. When we do shows the children get exposed to so much build self-esteem and confidence,” said Sharmita adding, “We believe in equality ability and opportunity. If we give that to children, it brings awareness to the society about them. The 23 percent of the people are challenged. We hope to bring them out and learn to make them smile.”
