School students launch balloon satellite

Dikshant students from the

Zirakpur

school launched Dikshant SAT-1, a high altitude balloon satellite that was launched using a

helium

balloon. It recovered the satellite through a parachute attached to the satellite at an altitude of approximately 150000 lac feet in the stratosphere from Bathinda at 2.45 am and the flight was 4 hours 30 minutes and the balloon was recovered at village Santokhpur , Kurukshetra.
Besides monitoring temperature, pressure, humidity, altitude, lighting density UV radiation cases, it also has a GPS tracker besides an action noise video camera which records the Earth’s

curvature
