celebrations in Chandigarh included poster-making, bird-watching, and jungle trail events at the

Sukhna Lake

said: "Every winter,

migratory birds

make the Sukhna their temporary home." Additional deputy commissioner Sachin Rana said: "Healthy and functional wetlands such as the Sukhna are important fish resources, the conservation of which is vital." Later, prizes were distributed among the winners of the painting competition on the theme of ‘Wetlands and biodiversity’.
