Poetic side of women

Mahilla Kavi Sammelan-2020, organised by

Panjab University

's alumni association, showcased the poetic side of women. The occasion was International Women’s Day.
The event saw

Anita Anand

, Babita Kapoor, Isha Naaz, and Mamta Kalra presenting their works. The shayari lovers turned up in large numbers to experience what they called a great evening. While Mamta Kalra enthralled the audiences with her renditions on Lord Krishna and dohas invoking the earthiness of the farmer community and their affection with nature, Babita Kapoor, a theatre activist, presented nazms on solitude and remembrance to women’s fortitude.


With her roots in Kashmir, Sunita Raina with her poetic renditions ranged from invoking God to materialism corroding relationship to lovers courtship and infidelity.
