Play on making plastic recyclable

The street play was performed to spread the message, ‘plastics are not the enemy, but poor handling of plastics is.’ Plastics used in packaging have the least carbon emission,

fossil fuel

and water usage and least product to package ratio as compared to other substitutes like glass/ metal. The issue is with the disposal. Mixing of organic waste with plastics makes them nearly impossible to recycle and they end up in oceans/ landfills and ultimately in our food chain. Hence to attack the problem from the root, we need to segregate waste and stop littering. Elimination of plastics is not feasible, since we don’t have an alternative which can be scaled up to the amount of plastic which is currently produced.
The cast of the play included, Jashan Baisowal, Manoj Kumar, Raveen, Ankush Rana, Amrit Pal, Shubham Gandhi, Sumit Swami, Ajay Chaudhary, Jayant Sharma and Vivek Roy Khanna.
