'My friends would come to Chandigarh for ashqui, but I never did geris'

lad Adhvik Mahajan, who started his career with South cinema, is bracing for his next TV stint in shows like Divya Drishti and Naagin 3. Recently, the actor was in Chandigarh and relived his memories from the apparently green and clean city, "I was infatuated with theatre since class seven. So, I was always seen in theatre, even in college. My friends at that time used to come to Chandigarh for gediyaan, and just like in the song, Chandigarh

ashiqi, munda jattan da jalandharon aake. But, I refrained from geris and clubbing. In fact, I have gone clubbing just twice in my life," said Adhvik in Sector 35 for an event.
Admitting to the fact that the path to acting career is always filled with struggles, he said, "I am a teetotaler. I don't smoke or drink or go to clubs. My friends and acquaintances used to say that if I don't do these things, then in Mumbai, how can I get along with the industry people, since we have to be social in order to get work. But, I believe it was in my destiny to be actor nevertheless, and I did get work."

Adhvik opens up about the part where the struggles of being an actor is integral to acting. "It's not a rosy picture, and not easy at all. On a daily basis, to live an actor's life is very difficult because most of his time is spent in asking for work. We are waiting for shoots more than we are actually shooting. I have waited for years and years for work to come to me. People go into depression, and I have seen my friends getting depressed. If you want to work as an actor, you have to be mentally strong, more than physically strong."
Adhvik married fashion designer, Neha after many years of dating in 2013. Among other things, he lists the importance of having a supportive partner in the glamour profession. "She was my junior in school and I was in college first year when I got to know her. I was nothing then and she has seen me in all phases of my life. She has been a witness to my struggling phase, when I used to travel in train and buses to ask for work. She never interfered with my decisions, and trusts that I am the best judge of my profession." He quips, "You see, I am the mature one in the relationship and she has a bit of childishness. She is a happy go lucky kind of girl. She definitely helps and supports me by being positive and making me happy at every step of the life. Bure waqt mein apka partner hi apki aukaat dikha deta hai, but Neha has anchored my ship."
