Family drama on women power on stage
Chandigarh Samvaad Theatre group presented an emotional family drama Kesar- Nari ka Swabhiman, a Hindi play on the seventh day of the ongoing Tricity Theatre Festival at Navrang Theatre, Bal Bhawan. The story revolves around a girl who was abandoned by her mother due to family pressure and was taken by some other family of nearby village. In a tragic incident the girl Kesar played by Diksya Sharma is sold by her step father to her real father for one night but her step sister intervenes to save her.

The play is written by Rajesh Atreya and directed by Mukesh Sharma, and paid tribute to the power of women to fight against all odds.
The artistes through the act conveyed a strong message that women are not a show piece and can play a pivotal role in sculpting country's future. The play had actors like Sanjay Kumar, Annporna, Jyoti Sharma, Rajni Bajaj, Shalvi Chauhan, Mehek, Ankita, Yashpal Tiwari, Heera Singh, Arvind, Jyoti Bhardwaj, Sajan, Vikas Negi, Kamal Bhardwaj, Gaurav Saini, Sandeep, Prince, Harman, Vishal Rana, Amit Jain, Mohit Sharma, Prem, Bhawna Bhasin, Pankaj, Minal, Neeraj, Neha Sharma, Deep Kochar, RD Sharma.
North Zone Cultural Center (NZCC), Patiala director, Prof. Saubhagya Vardhan and Chairman Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi Shri Kamal Arora was also present among others.
