Going by the large number of young people appreciating stand-up comedy, it was no surprise that the first day of this comedy festival in Kalagram was an assortment of young audiences culled from diverse professional and social strata. Nonetheless, what remained common was their love of a good, sensible, new age laugh.

While day one on Saturday was headlined by
Zakir Khan, the other artists who performed were Abish Mathew, AIB sensation Tanmay Bhat,
Sumaira Shaikh and
Gaurav Kapoor.
“I have a special connection with Punjab,” said Zakir, adding, “The tricity feels like a second home to me.”
The festival also took an initiative at finding local talent through a contest that took place as a pre-event activity.
Besides the laugh riot, what engaged the audiences were other fun activities, games and sumptuous grub.
