has organized a three day theatre bonanza to celebrate Children's Day from Nov 13 to 15 at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh. A p

’s Troupe
’sunique production. It is an English-Hindi presentation of an English short story, Letter From a Child To Mahtama Gandhi, by noted writer, scholar, activist and film maker Khwaja Ahmad Abbas.
The play unfolds in the form of five 14 to 18 tear old boys, writing a letter in English to Gandhi Ji soon after the latter’s death. The innocent boys and girls believe that Gandhi Ji died since they ignored his advice to stop playing games smacking of communalism, say, “Hindi Sena – Pakistani Fauj”. Interestingly, the English letter written by the children is full of spelling and

grammar

related errors, creating funny and humorous situations throughout the play. However, in the garb of this comically composed letter, the play highlights the all time significance of Gandhi Ji and his philosophy of Non-Violence. The play has been scripted and directed by Hemank Soni, a young an upcoming director reputed for his penchant for historical plays. Last but not the least, the play is presented by Social Pride welfare Society - the theater company credited with giving many new, original and entertaining productions to Hindi, Urdu and English theatre, including, Maulana Azad, Lal Qile Ka Aakhri Mushaerah, Ghalib, K L Saigal, Sons of
