Joining the hundreds of thousands of music lovers across the country mourning the loss of the Nightingale of India, an association in Chandigarh paid glowing
tributes
to the queen of melody,
Lata Mangeshkar. They organised a musical evening titled, 'Sureela Safar – Ye raaste hain pyar ke' at Bal Bhawan over the weekend.
The event was based on the theme of celebrating the relationship of love and music and dedicated to the legendary singer who passed away due to
COVID complications
in Mumbai on February 6. To give a heartfelt tribute to Lata, the team presented a soulful medley of her songs and the event was participated in by over 45
singers
from the Tricity who gave mesmerizing renditions in her
memory
.
Some of the songs performed were Maine pucha chand se by Dr Arun Kant, Ye mera dil by Shweta, Dil deewana by Jaspreet Jassal, Sanson ki zarurat hai jaise by Dr SS prasad, Lag ja gale by Ranju Prasad, Sochenge tumhe pyar by Jagdeep Dhanda, O mere shahe khuban by Roshanlal,chale jana zara thehro by Alok Nigam, Jab jaag uthe armaan by Mukesh Anand, Bol meri takdeer by Ranjit Singh and Harleen, Ye kali jab talak by Tony Suri and Sucheta, Meri jaan balle balle by Tarsem Raj & Pushpa, Tera mera juda hona mushkil hai by Sheenam & Vijay Tikku, Rimjhim ke geet sawan gaye by Meenu and Vinay and many more.
The music was arranged by Dr Arun Kant, a leading music arranger cum director of Tricity.
