Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi is organising the first Tricity school art teachers exhibition from July 10 onwards. The Akademi is doing this as an initiative to recognise the spirit and work of these selfless teachers, who nurture future talent by conceptualizing and curating this exhibition. Teachers working in government and private schools of the tricity and residing in the tricity will participate in this special exhibition.
The Akademi received 133 art works (paintings, graphics, sculptures, mix-media, drawing and photography) for this exhibition. The total works selected for display are 64 and the selection and awards were finalised by a jury comprising artists, Viren Tanwar from Delhi and Harshvardhan from Jammu. Tulsi Ram Prajapati, Bharti Sharma and Sanjeev Kumar have been chosen for awards of Rs 25,000 each, while Reena Bhatnagar, Mamta Marshal, Manisha Verma, Bibekanand Kapri, Sadhna Kumari and Harneet Kaur have been awarded merit certificate awards of Rs 5,000 each. The exhibition will be at Government Museum and Art Gallery.
