The Punjab State Youth Festival, which was held recently in Mohali near Chandigarh, was high on celeb factor. The event saw a gamut of artists converging to receive the award for their work in the entertainment industry.
The main aim of the Punjab govt's award show was to talk about the responsibility of artists who become youth icons because of their huge fanbase.
The event touched the aspect of their (celebrities) responsibility towards youth and society through their songs, films and other works. The state government honoured them for their off-screen work and motivated them to work for the betterment of society, with youth in particular.
Those awarded on the occasion included Satinder Sartaj, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Priti Sapru, Sunil Grover, Roshan Prince,
Kulwinder Billa, Mandy Takhar, Sargun Mehta, Satinder Satti,
Surveen Chawla, Varun Sharma, Jordan Sandhu,
Karamjit Anmol, Lakhwinder Wadali, etc. While
Mandy Takhar grabbed the award under eminent Indian actress category, Shipra Goyal was given the award for her singing. Salman Khan's loyalist, Gurmeet Singh aka Shera was awarded as eminent Indian celebrity bodyguard.
