A platform to connect verified NGOs with volunteers launched
A digital platform designed to bring transparency and accountability to volunteer coordination in India was inaugurated by Member of Parliament Manish Tewari recently. It was marked by panel discussion on challenges facing NGOs and volunteers, followed by CSR awards recognising organisations demonstrating exemplary social impact. Chandigarh Congress President H S Lucky was also present.
India’s volunteering sector currently operates through fragmented coordination systems. This often leads to verification challenges and instances of certificate fraud. Students seeking verified community service hours for college applications frequently face documentation gaps, while NGOs struggle with administrative burdens and limited visibility beyond their immediate networks.
“Volunteering is fundamental to civic engagement, but without proper infrastructure, impact remains difficult to measure or scale,” said the platform’s founder. “This is not another donation platform. It is verified digital infrastructure for time-based contributions, where attendance is confirmed by organisations rather than self-declared.”
The platform connects volunteers with NGOs through a structured workflow. Organisations publish opportunities in a public directory with verified details, volunteers register for events aligned with their interests, and service hours are digitally confirmed after participation. This creates a permanent, transparent record that educational institutions and other stakeholders can trust.
The initiative addresses needs across multiple stakeholders. NGOs benefit from simplified volunteer management and enhanced credibility with institutions. Volunteers build portable service records for academic or professional use. Schools gain access to reliable verification for community service requirements, while CSR programmes are able to measure civic participation with greater accountability.
“Digital infrastructure can strengthen social ecosystems when designed with transparency and verification at its core,” the founder added. “The platform treats time as a measurable, respected contribution and operates on three principles: time over money, verification over self-reporting, and transparency for all stakeholders.”Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”
