British Council set to bring books, learning and cultural exchange to the International Kolkata Book Fair 2026
Kolkata, 12 January 2026 — The British Council, the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities, will participate in the 49th International Kolkata Book Fair 2026 — one of the city’s most anticipated cultural events. Continuing its long-standing association with the fair, the British Council Pavilion will showcase the organisation’s diverse work across libraries, English language learning, arts, and education. Visitors can discover a curated selection of contemporary UK literature, explore the Council’s vast digital library, and engage with teams to learn about English learning resources, cultural programmes, and opportunities to study in the UK. Adding to the experience, the pavilion will feature interactive engagements designed for all age groups, making it an inviting space for readers, students, and families alike. Fair-exclusive membership offers — including new registrations and renewals — will also be available on-site. Through its continued presence at the International Kolkata Book Fair, the British Council reaffirms its commitment to fostering creative exchange and strengthening cultural and educational ties between India and the UK.
