Those who didn’t want to go party-hopping or dancing to the latest trance on Saturday night, chose to meet David Davidar and hearing him read from his new book.

Those who didn’t want to go party-hopping or dancing to the latest trance on that busy, busy Saturday night, chose to head out to engage in something a bit more intellectual. And that included meeting David Davidar and hearing him read from his new book.
The evening was chilled.The accent distinctly literary (with Anita Nair and Shashi Deshpande in the audience, listening intently).
Chippy Gangjee was in full form, chatting and exchanging stories with Leela Kalyanaraman.
Also there: Aslam Gafoor, Manjusha Maheshwari (in trademark chiffon saree) and the surprise guest of the evening was Mahesh Bhatt, who walked in and chatted a while with David Davidar. Is there a film around the corner somewhere?
Finally the man of the moment answered questions, mingled a bit and everyone ended up happy at the end of a relaxed evening.
