Go for an ethnic lookDiwali is an Indian festival so staying in touch with your roots is important. Go ethnic this Diwali, even with the decorations. Handmade diyas and vibrant rangolis will light up your home in an instant. Stack up on strings of lightsChinese lights and crackers are ruling the
Diwali markets like every year. “There is always a demand for Chinese items as they are cheaper. In India, we don’t have any cheap lights option to decorate our homes,” said Bastab Hota, a stall onwer. Most residents have been using these for their Diwali decoration for years now. Not only the lights, even crackers from the neighbouring country are preferred here.
Find terracotta options from exhibitionsTerracotta items can also be beautiful décor items this Diwali. Find some little gems like earthen lamps at the Exhibition Ground in the city. Artisans from across the state have set shop at this fair to cash in on the Diwali mood of the city people. “Every evening, we see good gathering of people and they also enquire and buy stuff from us. It’s a good time for us to do business here,” said Sarita Sahu, a stall owner.
