Premiere of the film, Selfish Dil, held

Selfish Dil

was held in a city single screen recently. The film’s cast and crew, along with some industry people, were present at the event. The movie stars debutant actor Shreyan and Suryamayee, who has done a few films.

The lead pair attended the premiere show first in

Cuttack

and then in a theatre in Bhubaneswar in the evening and watched the movie with their fans and friends. Shreyan, who was a district-level cricketer, and had done a course in acting before making his film debut. He told us that he has tried his level best to do some good work in his very first film. “It’s up to the audience to decide about the film,” said the young actor.

Director Basant Sahu, who has been working with established actors till date, said that he was happy working with youngsters and the Odia film industry needs more youngsters to come and showcase their talents. “This film will connect with the young audience who are very social media savvy and spend most of their times on online. Newcomers have been taken in this film so that the target audience connects to them better,” he said.

The movie also stars veteran actors like Bijay Mohanty, the late Salil Mitra, comedian Guddu and newcomer Payal. Sumitri Palei has composed the music for the film, which was shot in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Baripada. The film’s initial release date was postponed because of cyclone Fani.
