, the play was directed by one of the eminent theatre directors of Odisha,

Abhinna Routray

and staged by an ensemble of fine actors from the city. The story is about four friends- a prince, son of a minister, son of a katwal and son of a carpenter, who fell for a woman that was created by them. “The story of this play has drama elements and it’s a folktale. The play weaved a wonderful visual art and verbal expression with traditional flavour,” said the director.

The festival is organised by the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department of the Government of Odisha along with

Odisha Sangeet Natak Academy

and Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Kolkata in association with Odisha Natya Sangha. This prestigious festival brings some of the finest theatre troupes to the city to stage some beautiful plays.

On the second day, the festival presents a Hindi play to be staged by a troupe from Bhopal while the third evening will witness an Assamese play. The last two evenings are going to see two finest Hindi plays staged by theatres troupes from New Delhi.
