’s short film, Sanjog-A Connection, has been officially selected among 526 films from across the globe to be screened at

Caravan Smartphones Short Film Festival

in

Chicago

. The short film is among the 30 chosen from these 526 films for public screening as part of the

Global Citizen Smartphones Short Film Festival

and was screened for the public at the Burning Bush Gallery in Wheaton, Illinois, in the US on Friday. The film also would be screened on the website of the festival for global citizens to watch.



The short film, that’s based on disability and tries to create awareness among people on the issues faced by people with disabilities, has been conceptualised and directed by Ashutosh himself, while Biswajit Kuldi has taken the shots and Parag Kumar Behera has given the music and designed the soundscape. Both Kuldi and Behera have edited the film.

“There were over 500 short films from across the globe and the judges selected the best 30 from among them. These were screened for the public. It’s really an honour for a young

filmmaker

like me, when a film made here gets a platform on a world stage. It will motivate me and aspiring filmmakers to go further and try a variety of content,” said the filmmaker. He added that this two-minute-15-second short film is on the importance of understanding and connecting with those with disabilities.

The festival aims at bringing films made by filmmakers across the globe. This particular category is for international filmmakers who want to share their version of what it means to be a responsible member of the global family who aims to make the world more equal, fair, peaceful and sustainable.
