The Odia adaptation is written by Zakir Khan while the play is directed by veteran theatre personality Surya Mohanty. Odia cine and jatra actress Usasi Mishra has played an important role in the 1 hour 15 minutes play. “We have performed this play at five other places till date. It has been a true adaptation and the way the audience expressed their love during the show and after it, shows their interest in watching such paid shows,” said the director.

The play talked about contemporary socio-political situations in the state and the country. It has several political commentaries used to add humour and satire while pointing a finger at the system. “Though the play was written in the seventeenth century

France

, its relevant even today in a far off place like the Odia community. That’s why people love to watch it,” said Usasi.
