Renowned theatre personalities and film and television actors who have graduated from the National School of Drama (NSD) recently slammed actor Buddhaditya Mohanty for using abusive language to describe the institution during a phone-in interview on a local television channel. The actor was expressing his condolences after the demise of Rishi Kapoor when he bad-mouthed the institution.

Buddhaditya Mohanty

Actor Manoj Mishra, an NSD graduate, took to social media to demand an apology from Mohanty. Through a video message, he condemned Mohanty’s choice of words. “It’s okay to get carried away by the death of your favourite actor. But abusing an institute that has given many gems to Indian cinema and theatre is unacceptable. He should apologise for his words,” said Mishra.
Incidentally, the day before Rishi Kapoor’s death, Irrfan Khan, an NSD graduate, had passed away.
Veteran theatre person Surjya Mohanty, another NSD graduate, lambasted Mohanty for his ignorance. “I went through the clip and the actors he is praising in that audio have all praised NSD graduates. His behaviour is very childish and he should apologise,” he demanded.
Mohanty, however, has only given an unapologetic clarification on Manoj's social media post.
