Natyadhara
presented three plays from as many troupes in Bhubaneswar and Puri at
Bhanjakala
Mandap. The event that has been organised on the first three days of a month, was held recently, as the
National Theatre
Festival, Purva Ranga, was held during that time.
The opening evening saw play, Phasi, performed by Mirror from Bhubaneswar. The play was written by Shankar Shesh and directed by Siba Shankar Tripathy. The second evening brought a play titled, Kritadasa, presented by Kabacha troupe from Puri. It was written by Kailash Satpathy and LaxmidharPujapanda. The concluding evening was about a play titled, Mu Phoola Kahuchhi, by Parampara from Bhubaneswar. It was originally written by Nakula Badi and translated into Odia by Parthasarathi Mishra and directed by Prasanna Mishra.
The festival was organised by Odia Language, Literature and Culture department along with
Odisha Sangeet Natak Academy
and Odisha Natya Sangha. “The festival is regularly organised on the first three days. But this time due to the National Theatre festival during that time, the festival was held in the second week.” said
