The first evening of monthly theatre festival Natyadhara at Bhanjakala Mandap saw a play by Sataabdiraa Kalakara. The play Machha Kaandanaara Swar kept the audience hooked to the stage proceedings. Written by Rati Ranjan Mishra and directed by Dhira Mallick, the story talks about the valour of Bhuyan tribal people of the then Keunjhar kingdom, who had rebelled against their king but were defeated by the ruler who sought help from British.

The story also talks about the first Odia story writer Fakir Mohan Senapati, who was a manager of the king. The play depicts a pre-independent picture of Odisha, mostly in the tribal-dominated Kendujhar area.
