Sahid Raghu Sardar

, was held at the

Odisha Press Club

recently. In attendance were the cast and crew of the film, which is based on a true pre-Independence incident. The story revolves around the life and struggles of freedom fighter Raghu Sardar.

State planning and convergence, commerce and transport minister

Padmanabh Behera

was the chief guest at the event, while veteran actor and Odisha State Cashew Development Corporation Limited chairman

Munna Khan

was the guest of honour.

The film is being directed by Rajib Mohanty, who has also written the screenplay. Biswanath Patnaik is presenting the film and has also conceptualised the story. The dialogues have been penned by Rajani Ranjan. Debasis Patra, Lipsa Mishra, Santosh and Kavya Kiran are playing lead roles in the film, which also features Pintu Nanda, Akshaya Bastia, Priyanka, Twinkle, Biju Badajena, Debu Pattnaik, Chaudhuri Bikash Das, Babu Pradhan, Chiranjib, and Anshuman. Bikash Sukla is scoring the music, while the songs have been penned by Arun Mantri, Bijay Malla and Jajpur district collector Ranjan Dash.

“We are making a patriotic film for the first time. It’s also a period film. We know the difficulties of making a period film and will do our best to recreate the historical elements and correctly portray the story of Raghu Sardar, who sacrificed his life for our country’s freedom,” Rajib told us.
