City cops win big at police awards

Bhubaneswar Urban Police got the best police unit award for conducting investigations scientifically to detect crimes. They were conferred with the Kshetra Mohan Biswal Trophy and SK Ghosh Trophy at the Police Duty Meet held at Cuttack that concluded recently. Cuttack Urban Police were second. Inspector Banita Maharana of Bhubaneswar won the Best Performance Award in the ‘Investigation Into crimes using scientific methods’ category. Crime branch inspector Abantimani Nayak won the Best Performance Award in 'Computer knowldege and awareness' category. Police dog Angel and caretaker of the dog squad constable Chitta Ranjan Lenka were also felicitated for their performances. Banita won the Overall Best Performer Award too.
