The Odia film fraternity mourned the death of renowned cinematographer Gagarin Mishra, who had worked in Ollywood as well as Bollywood films. Mishra, 67, passed away at a Mumbai hospital today.
People close to him informed that he had recently come to Bhubaneswar and on his return to Mumbai, he had felt uneasy.
Later while resting at his home, his condition deteriorated and was rushed to hospital. He died at a private hospital in Mumbai.
He had worked in Odia films like Nai Separi Kanaka Gori, Phoola Chandan and several others, along with Hindi films like Betaab, Ram Avatar, Chalbaaz, Wazood and few others.
Many people had met him during his recent visit to Odisha and couldn’t believe his sudden demise.
Actor Partha Sarathi Ray, who had worked with him in Nai Separi Kanaka Gori, paid his homage saying, “I am heartbroken with the sudden demise of Gagarin sir. I have great memories at his place in Mumbai. His entire family treated me like their own. Your energy level and smile will always remain in my heart,” Partha posted on social media.
OFDC chairman Kuna Tripathy also paid his tribute through social media. “Very disheartened to learn that renowned cameraman Gagarin Mishra left for his heavenly abode. He was also the founder of Bollywood Odia Association in Mumbai. May God give strength to his family and friends,” Tripathy expressed his condolences.
