Celebrities join hands to collect clothes for the underprivileged

Several celebrities joined hands with actor-turned-politician Akash Dasnayak, who has launched a drive to collect clothes for underprivileged people in the state. The campaign, Thile Diya Nathile Niya (Give if you have, take if you don’t), was initiated by his father, renowned social activist Mayadhar Nayak.

Actress Sheetal Patra, hockey legend Dilip Tirkey and several well-known people from the city like Hari Prasad Pattnayak, Surjyaprakash, Aditya Dash and Debasmita Panda donated old and new clothes as part of the campaign.
“Over the years, we have been trying to collect clothes and distribute them among the poor. My father had started the drive to arrange winter clothes for the underprivileged, who can’t afford warm clothes. We launched it in eight cities across Odisha along with Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Pune. Many people are voluntarily contributing to the cause,” said Akash.
“This is a very good initiative, as winter is coming. More and more people should come forward to help the underprivileged,” Sheetal told us.
