Braving rain and change of venue, residents show love for folk dance

open-air auditorium due to rain. The Lokakala Mahotsav, however, saw the usual enthusiasm from audience who had gathered in large numbers to witness the folk arts of the state. Inaugurated by minister Pradeep Maharathy, the evening saw Nachniya of Jharsuguda,

of Sonpur, Dhemsa of Koraput,

Koya dance

of Malkangiri, Rangabati of Baragada, Kui dance of Kandhamal, Sankirttan of Kendrapara, Pala from Balasore, Daskathia from Nayagarh, and Kishan dance from Debgarh performed by the folk artists from these districts. As many as 14 artistes were felicitated on the occasion.
