Bijay Mohanty, who was undergoing
treatment
in a private hospital in Hyderabad following a heart attack last month, was brought back to Bhubaneswar in a
special ambulance
on Sunday.
According to his family, they took the decision because his condition is now stable and in the city, he can stay close to his family, friends and well-wishers. Bhubaneswar MP and former bureaucrat

helped in arranging the ambulance for the actor’s safe travel. His daughter Jasmin and wife
Tandra Ray
, who accompanied him, are under home quarantine now.

Sritam Das, general secretary of Odisha cine artistes’ association, said Mohanty’s condition is now stable and he is on oxygen support and under observation at the hospital here. “In the coming days, it will be clear whether he will be allowed to go home or stay in the hospital,” Das said, adding that the artistes’ association is ready to extend any kind of help to the actor. The state government is also keeping an eye on his health.
