“When I heard about his demise last evening, I was devastated. Few days ago, I had met him in the hospital and we talked about a lot of things. He cried holding my hands. To keep him upbeat, I sang and danced. He smiled and wanted to do films after recovering. But he couldn’t keep his words,’ recalled Anu.
She remembered how Bijay Mohanty had inspired her since her childhood. Whether watching him onscreen or while visiting him on the sets, he had always fascinated her. Later, she got an opportunity to work with him for a long period of time. She also recalled how he would teach her every nuance of acting and

.
“We have grown up watching his acting in films. In my career spanning more than two decades, I have learnt a lot from him. He treated me like his daughter. I can remember him guiding me on various occasions in the past and very recently when he was active. It’s unimaginable what he has done for

cinema,” said the actress.
