Actors shake a leg on fans’ request at music release

Films on lives of people have always attracted filmmakers. Like the Hindi

industry, the Odia film industry too has jumped on the bandwagon. The recent

music

release of such a film, Krishna, on dancer Krishna Reddy, who made headlines for winning a national television talent show a few years ago, was a fun event. Krishna hails from

. Most members of the troupe belong to poor families and were brick kiln workers before they joined the group. The actors and the music team of the film gathered at the event.

Krishna is all in one
The film depicts the struggles of the underprivileged children whom Krishna taught dance. He is the one-man army who wrote the story, dialogue and screenplay, directed
the film, produced it and handled the background score. “It’s my struggle and the struggles of my troupe members. So, I decided to bring it to the public who had seen our dance, but hardly know our story,” said Krishna.

Women’s evening out
The women, who have lent their voices in the film, were present at the event. Singers Saina Rath, Ananya Sritam Nanda, Arpita Chaudhury and Manaswini Patnaik were seen chatting, giggling and taking selfies. “I am happy that I have got the chance to sing Vande Utkal Janani with

family members.

Fans couldn’t get enough of them
A dance film music release without some foot tapping is unthinkable. On fans’ request, Krishna and actress Surya Mayee swayed to a romantic number in the film and the audience broke into instant cheer.

Other casts and guests
The cast and crew present at the event were all praise for Krishna for adapting the story for the silver screen. “I’m proud to be associated with this,” said Tulu Tarini, a differently-abled member of the group. Krishna’s uncle, Somesh Reddy, also plays an important role in the film and was present at the event. Actor
