On a brightly lit stage at Ravindra Bhawan, singer couple Sonali Rathod and Roop Kumar Rathod walk in, dressed in navy blue kurta and silk saree respectively. The couple acknowledge welcome of the audience with folded hands. Roop Kumar begins the events with his famous song ‘Maula Mere, Maula Mere’ from Anwar. Organized jointly by the Allauddin Khan Academy and department of culture the couple was in the city to perform in the Smaran Kulbhushan Dillauri.
As soon as he started singing the audience acknowledged through cheers and claps. He then sang ‘Zindagi Maut Na Ban Jaye, Sambhalo Yaaro…’ from the movie Sarfarosh. This was followed by ‘Sandese Aate Hai…’ from Border before which he said that he wants to dedicate this song to all the Bravehearts who are on the borders of the country. Sonali sang songs like ‘Nigahe Milne Ko Jee Chahta Hai…’ ‘Dard Se Mera Daman Bhar De…’ and ‘Laga Chunari Mein Daag’ which enthralled the audience. The event culminated with 'Tere Liye Hum Hai Jiye…’ from Veer-Zara.
