Karni staged at Shaheed Bhawan

What goes around comes around is what the philosophy of

Karma

states. A play inspired by a Himachali saint

Karni

was staged at

Shaheed Bhawan

under the direction of Vijay Sonwane. Sonwane had gone to Himachal to perform street plays that is where he first met the saint and was so influenced by his actions and words that he penned down a plot. The plays exhibit the message that even though Karma is invisible, it is the true identity of a person. The performance starts off with a conversation between Yamraj and Yamdoot who directs him to go to earth and get the souls of the people. On his way, the Yamdoot loses the list of the people. He was aware of the fact that if he will go empty hand, then he would be punished, so he decided that he will choose the people upon their karma and take their soul. He spots three people there, a priest, beggar and businessman. The priest is so proud of himself that he never cares about the other people, the beggar despite being healthy and fine never works hard to earn money, and the businessman who is very successful and wealthy never helps anyone. He takes the three of them to Yamdoot and informs him about the tale of the missing list and how he brought these people. The Yamraj gets very furious after listening to this and yells that it is essential to do things which are right and that includes the deeds of the Yamdoot too. At the end, Yamraj gives back the life of the people.
