On the occasion of the 37th foundation of the cultural centre Bharat Bhawan, play Tughluq was staged by the artists of Shree Ram centre repertory, Delhi. Under the direction of K Madvan this one and a half hour plays leaves the audience with a question that was Muhammad Bin Tughluq a hero or a villain. Play’s assistant director Sameep Singh says that Tughluq did something due to which he is remembered till date. He further added, “He wanted to shift his capital to Daulatabad because he wanted to keep his kingdom safe. According to him Delhi was a place which was an easy target for the invaders.” The play also sends out a message of communal harmony because Tughluq wanted all the communities in his kingdom live happily together.
