400 food aficionados gather to give an ode to taste in Bhopal

It was a warm wintry afternoon when hundreds of food lovers of

Bhopal Food Lovers

group met for a potluck party at a private party garden to celebrate without a reason. There were professional chefs, teachers, artists, doctors, homemakers, bakers and engineers all with their loved ones, carrying a dish with their food item. More than two hundred dishes were brought in by these people who had an array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The cherry on the top was the variety of desserts which were there for the people to relish.

“There were dishes like dal pakwan, kesariya pulao, assorted sindhi pakoda , shahdoli malaai puye, gatte ki biryani, shorshe maach, goan fish curry, muglai mutton, variety of kebabs, mava kheer, taar gosht , zafrani kheer, kaddu kheer, mava kheer, and dates cake. The lip-smacking food was truly an ode to the taste buds.” Says member Sangeeta Bhandari. Additionally, there were seven live food counters which delighted the stomach of the attendees.

The grand food carnival was followed by some amazing outdoor activities like lemon on the spoon race and musical chair. “The response was overwhelming. It felt like a wedding where so many people came but with their own food. Bhopal is known for its diversity and the food items which the people brought truly showed that.” Said member Prabdeep Singh.
