40-year-old puppets present Sita Haran at Tribal museum

Under the on-going Putul Samaroh at Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum, puppeteers from Orissa presented the entire Sita Haran scene. Staged for two hours along with 35 puppets, instruments like harmonium, shehnai, flute, and table were used for the performance. The act started with Sita spotting the golden deer and asking Rama to get it for her. After some time she hears Rama’s voice and sends Lakshmana to help him out.Seeing this as an opportunity Ravana comes and abducts Sita. Another act was presented in which Rama and Lakshmana cut Surpnakha’s nose.
