2 states 35 poets and more than a dozen of poems recited on one cruise

Accompanied by light monsoon showers and an enthusiastic crowd, young poets in the city captivated the people with their enthralling poetry recitations. Out of one thousand entries the best thirty-five were selected to present their work. Participants ranged from students to doctors, home makers to entrepreneurs. The poets forced the audience to gasp in wonder with their masterpieces. Medical student Athira G Nair recited a poem named soul which was, “The relief you sigh, amidst the drowsiness of the canvas that’s blurred in the ink of swelling memories. A nightmare dressed in a day dream. But, I can’t find a way to stop the storm; And yes, I end it there with a semicolon.” Dr. Shiv Mishra from Delhi recited a poem in

Hindi

, “Socha unge rijhaye, kyun na nagma koi sunaye…ya shayar hi ban jaye, do ek sher hi farmaye..” Special education teacher Gaurav Adeeb recited a spine-chilling poem based on the Asifa rape case, “Raam wahan rehte the haan usi ahate mein…jahan ek din kuch shikari ek nanhi chidiya ko dhardaboj laye the…”

This city is blessed with artistic and passionate people.” Another poetry aficionado Nishant Upadhyay feels that sessions like are a great platform where the poets can test themselves. “The much-needed exposure that one gets by participating in these events helps in improving our work. Even when we see other people perform we can make mental notes why this person is better and what is needed in my work.” said Nishant.
