Sunday morning saw members of music band Swarathma put forth a unique performance to protect more than 170 trees at Indiranagar BDA complex and raise awareness about the environment. Plans are afloat that authorities would soon convert the area into a shopping complex, and in the process get rid of all the trees there. The troupe — comprising Vasu Dixit, Sanjeev Nayak, Jishnu Dasgupta, Varun Murali — played acoustic concerts under the trees, in an effort to share their love for them and save them.
Residents of the area actively participated in the initiative, while actors Sruthi Hariharan and Chetan were also spotted there supporting the effort.
