Sampoorn Santhe is back again in Bengaluru, this time at the Maratha Hostel Grounds with over 100 artisans from 18 states. Innovative designs, crafts, workshops and exotic food are the highlights of this exhibition. In fact, there are rustic rural delicacies on offer at the food court.
Harish, an exhibitor from
Karnataka, says, “Tribal jewellery is now a new fashion statement and we make tribal jewellery from different tribes of Jaipur, Udaipur and Karnataka.
This handmade jewellery is made out of recycled items, newspapers and beads. The stones are used for healing.”
Vishnu Soni, another exhibitor and an award-winner for monochrome double face painting says, “This is our ancestral work. Paintings are done on old postcards depicting the symbols of Rajasthan — love, power and good luck. Paintings are mostly
Radha-Krishna art and the material used is vegetable oil.”
Exhibitor Kumud from Jodhpur says, “Woodpecker’s wood and brass craftwork are basically for the NGOs and for their funding.”
