Shimmer and shine rule the ramp and the red carpet at BGTFW 2019

The famous adage, ‘Add a little sparkle to your life’ seemed to be the motto for many at this year’s Bangalore Times Fashion Week as all things sequins and shimmery ruled the event. From dresses, bags, and jackets, sequins made a splash and how. While fashionistas were seen flaunting shimmery and sequinned dresses, designers too made the most of this trend on the ramp.

Bidapa’s swimwear collection made a bold statement in gold, black and silver sequins, and Abraham and Thakore very intricately used sequins in their collection. Speaking about the trend, designer David Abraham says that sequins never went out of fashion. “When we look at clothing for occasions and celebrating evening wear, sequins have a very strong place there. and I think it never went out of fashion,” he says.
“It never hurts to add a little sparkle to your life. Shimmer and sequins glam up the attire and I think we should go for it,” says fashion designer Shwetha Nandakumar, who was also spotted wearing a sequinned bodycon dress. Shimmer and sequinned gowns and dresses seemed to work well for almost all the age-groups and body types seen at the venue.
