The semi-finals of the Clean and Clear Bangalore Times Fresh Face 2015 saw some high-octane performances by the contestants, who were selected after vigorous rounds in several colleges across the city. The contestants — who were dressed to kill — also put their heart and soul into battling it out for a place in the final and make it tough for judge, fashion choreographer Sheetal Sharma, to make a choice.
While some of them danced their way into the judge’s heart, some sang and acted in order to impress her.
Sun Sathiya emerged as the favourite song for female performers this year. Kaushik Muthanna from MS Ramaiah College made a mark with lyrical hip hop, while David Fernandes from Acharya Institute of Technology was a revelation when he strummed the guitar and sang Adele’s Rolling in The Deep. The svelte Aishwarya Baruah from CMRIT impressed with her moves and Smruthi Pushparaj from Mount Carmel College showed off gravity-defying steps to
Lean On and Boneless. Popping by Siddharth ES from CMRIT and Syed Mashud Hashmi from CMRIMS won the heart of the judge. Self-confessed fitness freak Ankita Thakur from Mount Carmel College put up a unique performance that blended yoga with dance, while aspiring model Surya Manoharan, who is also from the same college, flaunted off her belly-dance skills. Ishita Parakh from PES, Electronic City, showed off her impressive vocal range. Akancha Sharma and Surendar Sharma, both from Dayanand Sagar Institutions, danced together but in a way that let them exhibit their individual dancing prowess. This followed by their fellow collegemate Tejas VR, who left the judge in awe with his football tricks and ball balancing acts. Impressive dance performances by Pragya Jain, from Jyoti Nivas College, Prathika Prasad, from Mount Carmel College, and Saeed Fareed, from New Horizon College, Kasturinagar, wrapped up the auditions for the day.
Featured here are the winners of the semi-finals round. They will go on to the next round, which is the makeover round, after which they will head to the final.
