Samir enjoys b'day, the poetic way

It was artist Samir Aich’s 50th birthday and since he was in the city, he decided to celebrate friends and fellow artists. There was a retrospective collection of his paintings at a cocktail evening hosted by Gita Maini.It was opened by Yusuf Arakkal, a close friend of Samir’s.
The highlight of the evening was a poetry recital by Jeet Thayil who narrated poetry in keeping with the theme of Samir’s works. BT saw Sudarshan Maini, Deepa and Nirad Muthanna, Paresh Hazra (with his braid and colourful attire intact), Ashish Mridha, Sara Arakkal and lots of others who seemed to be enjoying the poetry and the art.
Chaats and snacks were served before the show and then everyone settled down to enjoying the evening without any disturbance. Among them were Raj Basu, Ranjan and Sangeeta Ghoshal, Arati and Suresh Sud, Sambarita and Sankalita.
