Remembering Anthony Bourdain with food in Bengaluru

International Institute of Hotel Management in Bengaluru recently observed ‘Bourdain Day’, marking the birth anniversary of celebrity American chef and author, the late Anthony Bourdain. The event saw 50 students from different departments — like

food

production, décor and marketing — come together to prepare a seven-course meal for a private event.
“Apart from the elaborate meals, we also made a birthday cake. It was prepared with chocolate

ganache

and had

chocolate

buttercream frosting. It is said that chef Bourdain loved both. He was also a big-time meat lover. So, along with the vegetarian options, we had an exotic non-vegetarian spread too,” says Yukti Bathija, a student from the institute. The team is planning to continue this tradition in the coming years too.
