It doesn’t get better than this for movie buffs. Kingfisher Ultra recently launched Kingfisher Ultra Reel Nites, a series showcasing world-class cinema across the city. The launch last week saw the screening of the 2007 Academy Award winner for Best Foreign Film — The Counterfeiters. And last Saturday, the emperor of good times screened another classic, 13 Tzameti, at Ista.
The evening was themed around the movie. Lots of film buffs turned up. Ganapati was seen having good time with friends Dilip, Christy and Deepti. BT also spotted Jaishankar Menon, Suitha Venugopal and Brinda Menon, among others.
The plan is to showcase a total of five such award-winning movies throughout November and December. “The event has been created keeping in mind the popularity of world cinema. The concept of showcasing movies at venues other than theatres has now become a trend in India. And now that we are making such movies accessible through Kingfisher Ultra Reel Nites, it seems like everybodys loving it,” says Shekhar Ramamurthy, deputy president, United Breweries Limited.
Well, it sure look like the emperor of good times knows how to keep movie buffs smiling.
